I've forgotten the combination to my standard dial combination lock. How do I obtain the combination for personal use?

A) My lock does not have a serial number:

To provide enhanced long-term security, Master Lock has discontinued imprinting a serial number on the lock body on combination locks sold through retail locations. For greater convenience, we encourage consumers to store their combination at our secure website, Masterlockvault.com, which is easy to use and offers 24/7 access. Unfortunately, we are unable to provide combinations for non-serialized locks, if the user did not register with Masterlockvault.com. Please see examples of a serial number or date code if you are unsure if your lock contains either one.

B) My lock has a serial number:

We recommend you validate whether your lock contains a valid serial number or date code prior to submitting a lost combination form. My school purchased built-in combination locks for our lockers, but our maintenance staff does not know how to install them. Do you have instructions you can send to me?

Installation Instructions (1630, 1631, 1652, 1653, 1654, 1655, 1670, and 1671)

  • Before separating front and back assemblies, remove combination tag and write locker number in area designated. This is important!
  •
  • Set dial at "0" at red marker. This setting aligns interior parts for easy assembly.
  •
  • With dial on "0" at red marker, separate knob assembly from case assembly. DO NOT interchange knob assembly from one lock with case assembly from another.
  •
  • With one hand, line up two holes in case assembly, with screw holes on inside of locker door.
  •
  • With other hand, insert knob assembly (with red dial marker up and dial at "0") through holes on locker door into case assembly. If units do not fit together flush, turn knob until unit drops into position.
  •
  • Place locking nuts on screw bolts and tighten. Lock is now ready to operate on original combination.
  •

Installation Instructions (1700 Series)

  • Position the lock, inside the locker, so that the two holes on the case align with the holes on the locker door.
  •
  • Insert the bolts onto the holes from the front of the locker through the door and the case.
  •
  • Place locking nuts on the bolts and tighten.
  •
